Empowering Educators with AI: Today’s Tools and Tomorrow’s Innovations
Aloha, everyone! My name is Michael Fricano II, and I was one of the presenters during the Summer Learning Series!

AI Tools Assessment Checklist
When exploring AI tools for the classroom, it is vital that you evaluate them using some key criteria. TCEA (Texas Computer Education Association) created a fantastic resource to help educators assess the AI tools they are interested in. One part of that resource is the “Assessing AI for Classroom Use Checklist” document.
The checklist uses four criteria for assessing AI tools: Relevancy, Student Data Privacy, Ease of Learning, and Support. If you check off too many “No” or “Kinda” boxes, you know immediately that the tool is probably not something you should use in the classroom. An AI Tool You Can Use Today
One of my favorite AI music-generating apps right now is Suno! It not only creates instrumental music for you based on a text prompt, but it also creates the lyrics and sings the song as well. It’s amazing that everything in a Suno song is AI-generated based on a few words from your prompt!
You can sign up for a free Suno account and log in with Google or Microsoft accounts. A free account allows you 50 credits per day, and one song generation costs 10 credits. But guess what?! If you’re a teacher, you can get 5,000 free credits added to your account! Watch my presentation during the Summer of Learning Series to find out how!

An AI Tool on the Horizon
If you’re a Google Classroom user like me, then this is something that you will definitely want to keep your eye on. Google is currently beta testing AI integration with Google Classroom for teachers. It’s part of Google’s “AI Labs in Classroom” tool and promises to help teachers develop lesson plans. Here’s a screen grab of the tool in action.
